1. My biggest achievement was starting my career all over again in 2008.

In 2008 I was in a life changing car accident that crushed my right hand and wrist. I ended up with a steel plate and 8 screws in my right wrist and hand. And no career. For 40 years I was a bartender , waitress , had my own catering company and worked as the catering manager for the President of the U of Maryland , his family and the Deans and Professors.I loved my job and doing parties for 2 to 2000 people. The car acident took all that away. It was 2 years before my Dr knew what the outcome was going to be.I tryed to go back to work in my field and I could not do my job anymore. What to do now?????

2. 5 years before the accident I was packing to move and came across a childs beading book that was long forgotten. I packed it in my box and moved. And did not think about it again until after my accident. I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. I remembered that little book and took it out and I knew exactly what I was going to do. Thats when I started to design jewelry. The little spark of an idea turned into a flame that drives my passion for my work with natural stones and wire .I hand pick all of my stones, design all my own pieces, photograph all my work . In other words I wear all the hats at Mojowoman ‘s Jewelry. I am a multi published artist that specializes in wire work and beautiful natural stones.

3.My website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/mojowoman

mojowoman twitter

4.Well that one is easy. When I was in the car accident and not able to do anything for myself and had to learn to use my right hand all over again.Lost my career.I was so lost . My door not only closed but slammed shut on.

Life lesson ( When one door closes , another one opens ) keeping the faith.

5. My favorite book is ( She’s Come Undone ) Wally Lamb

6.Of all the things I have learned 60 years , living life has been the best education .Going down the road of hard knocks. And making mistakes along the way is the best teacher.

7. I am grateful to God and my faith in him has gotten me through those really tough times I mentioned before.I am grateful that I was given a talent that has turned into my true passion.Do what you love, and never work a day in your life!

1: What is your deepest regret?

I regret not clueing in sooner to the fact that my beloved cat, Gideon, had developed cancer. Cats hide their illnesses well, and in general he was a very healthy guy. His eating habits had changed, but I chalked it up to being inexplicably finicky and didn’t probe deeper as soon as I should have. His death two years ago hit me very hard, as others who have had close relationships with pets will understand. I had him for 16 years, and he was an immeasurable force for good in my life.

2: Please explain more what you do.

I help professionals and companies ensure their true talents are being recognized in the marketplace. I do that through writing books like Stand Out and
Reinventing You, teaching for Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, giving keynote talks, and consulting and coaching.

3: How people can get in contact with you?

The best way for folks to reach me is through my website, dorieclark.com. They can also download a free 42-page Stand Out self-assessment workbook I developed, which guides people step-by-step through developing their own breakthrough ideas and building a following around them.

4: What is your biggest life lesson?

The reason I wrote Stand Out is that I believe everyone has an important message to share and an important contribution to make. I don’t want to live in a world where the loudest voice wins; I want to live in a world where the best ideas win. But we can only do that if we’re willing to move past self-doubt and share our vision with the world.

1: What is your deepest regret?

There are more than a few things that I regret, one of my deepest would be my
not being there for my younger brother and sister. Although I was raised in the Massachusetts Foster System they remained at home in the abusive environment I was removed from. The Foster System is still flawed because there are horror stories of abused children being abused by the foster parents that are supposed to protect them. The Foster System is broken! People need to be reminded that children are our future, but when you hurt and abuse and kill children are you not hurting, abusing and killing our future?

2: Please explain more what you do.

My Passion is writing. I’ve Tweeted about being born with a pen in my hand and I believe that to be true. I have no formal writing training, but those who read what I have written will definitely see my growth as an Author and that is what I strive for. I currently have four published books two are what I consider to be my venting projects. I put all of my past pain and frustration within them turning them into stories for the world to read and witness. I am still my best subject and it shows in the screenplay that I’m currently working on entitle “Dirty Blue.” I’m not the best writer, but see myself as being one that is yet to be discovered among the top Authors with something to say. I write about strong woman characters who suffer and come out better for it and that is something that most of us hope for in this life.

3: How people can get in contact with you?

I have an Author Facebook page under “Author Jacqueline Rainey”, I’m also on LinkedIn, but, Twitter is where I can be found daily. @BlueHarmonie. All of my books are available on Amazon and a number of other outlets.

4: What is your biggest life lesson?

My biggest life lesson is that I’m still learning.

Sheila Rawlings' Interview

1. What is your greatest regret?

I try very hard not to dwell on past mistakes, preferring to focus on the present and my resolve to do better. However, one thing I have always regretted is not taking time out after leaving full time education – where I was completely sheltered from the realities of life – to gain more experience and simply enjoy being young before rushing headlong into the very different demands of a career, relationships and the inevitable responsibilities that come with both.

Although I definitely do not regret the path I chose in life, had I taken that break and maybe travelled more, I would have hopefully been more mature – and better prepared – to deal with the unexpected challenges that were ultimately thrown at me, instead of having to stumble my way through it on a daily basis, without the luxury of time – or worldly experience – to do a better job.

Despite this, I managed to have a successful career and a very happy marriage… but I still regret not taking that gap year!

2. Please explain more what you do

I had a long career as a graphic designer, mainly working for a magazine publisher in London. I was primarily responsible for designing and producing the company’s weekly news magazine for the fresh produce industry, but I was also responsible for other publishing projects, including involvement with the PR and marketing department. In this capacity I designed exhibition stands and took care of clients’ marketing needs, such as brochures and other printed matter. From time to time I even wrote the odd press release.

These activities meant that I worked extremely closely with journalists – proof reading their copy and occasionally writing captions and headlines. I was already an avid reader and had enjoyed writing essays at school, so being exposed to this environment helped to hone my skills as a writer.

Eventually, when I retired and found myself with time to spare, I decided to put my writing skills to good use and set about writing my first novel, ‘Truth & Revenge’. I had begun to write the story 20 years previously, but due to the demands on my time, I was unable to give it the full attention it needed. Therefore, it remained in its embryonic state until I retired four years ago.

Since self-publishing my novel in 2013, I was lucky enough to be nominated as a finalist in the 2014 Wishing Shelf Independent Book Award, something of which I am immensely proud – even though I did not win. I have now completed a second novel, a psychological thriller called ‘Unreliable Testimony’ – for which I am currently seeking a literary agent.

I have also begun a third novel – another psychological thriller.

3. How can people get in contact with you?

I also have a website: sheilarawlings.com

4. What is your biggest life lesson?

Life is short, so you need to treasure the people you love and care for while you still have them. Make the most of every day and try to help others along the way. Life can be cruel, so you need to compensate for that.

Kyrian Lyndon's Interview

1) What is your deepest regret?

It’s hard for me to regret anything, because when I think of the biggest mistakes I’ve made, knowledge, power, and growth were the endgame. And this may sound trite, but everything I’ve done, right or wrong, has made me who I am. I finally like that person. What I do regret is that when I’ve made mistakes, other people got hurt, too. As an example, for a long time, I wasn’t a good judge of character, and I put my faith and trust in the wrong people. Of course, in the end, I benefited with all I learned, but people who loved me suffered. Hard as it is to avoid sometimes, I never want to be the cause of another person’s pain.

2) Please explain more what you do.

I am the author of two poetry books, A Dark Rose Blooms and Remnants of Severed Chains, but I have another book targeted for release this fall: Deadly Veils Book One: Provenance of Bondage, the first novel of my fiction series. My books are primarily about healing—the process of people healing, especially women. I may unveil it in dramatic prose and thrilling tales, but healing is what’s going on. I am a person with many years of recovery, as well as a trauma survivor, and as I state in the preface of Remnants, the willingness to learn, grow, and evolve is among life’s greatest blessings. It saw me through one challenge after another. I believe learning, growing, healing, and evolving is a never-ending process. It's a path of waking up every day one step closer to authenticity and our best selves. If we’re following that path, we’re always getting wiser, better, stronger, and I love that. I am also a big cheerleader for those trudging on against all odds in the hopes of living their dreams.

4) What is your biggest life lesson?

It has to be what I’ve learned about narcissism and codependency—what I’ve learned about narcissistic abuse, about ego. I had to take a good look at the way I grew up, and I had to break these cycles. I wanted to learn everything I could about those subjects, and I’m still doing that. It’s hard when you see other people struggling with these same issues, having no idea what the problem is, because you want to fix it. You want to help them, and you can’t until they are ready to look at themselves. Sadly, for some, it never clicks that they might be the problem. It’s always everyone else. So I feel fortunate that I had enough empathy for myself and for others to examine my motives. I think you have to wake up every morning wanting to be the best person you can be. Then you can manage, on a day-to-day basis, all the things that get in the way of achieving that.

K.M. Weiland's Interview

1: What is your deepest regret?

I wish I hadn’t bought an entire print run of my first book A Man Called Outlaw. I still have boxes sitting in my barn. POD is so much easier (and cheaper). But, really, I love my mistakes. I’ve learned from all of them.

2:  Please explain more what you do?

I’m a very stereotypical writer chick, hibernating in my make-believe worlds, most of which are either historical or fantasy. I’ve published three novels A Man Called Outlaw (western), Behold the Dawn (historical set during the Third Crusade), Dreamlander (fantasy), and the non-fiction writing how-to books Outlining Your Novel, Structuring Your Novel, and Jane Eyre: The Writer’s Digest Annotated Classic.

3: How people can get in contact with you?

You can email me directly using the contact page on my website, or get in touch with me via my social accounts with Facebook and Twitter.

4: What is your biggest life lesson?

Write every day. If you don’t make your writing a priority, no one else will. It can be difficult not to feel guilty about spending time writing, when you could be spending it doing something more “productive” (like vacuuming the house). But don’t allow yourself to use guilt as an excuse. If your writing is important to you, don’t let anything stand in its way. Set aside a specific amount of time every day (whether it’s twenty minutes or five hours) and make sure you’re at your desk at that time, no matter what.
